Mumbai Indians have named Afghanistan’s star spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman as the replacement for Allah Ghazanfar for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Mujeeb, who hasn’t played in the league since 2021, joins the MI squad for INR 2 crore.
This comes as a big blow to the franchise, as 18-year-old Allah Ghazanfar sustained an L4 vertebra fracture during the Zimbabwe tour, ruling him out of action for at least four months.

Mujeeb was one of the youngest players to represent Afghanistan and made an immediate impact in the IPL at the age of 17. He has played over 300 T20 matches (international and domestic), taking 330 wickets at an economy rate of around 6.5.
